  • Dr. Marie N'diaye (PhD) is a Jazz Dance choreographer, performer and educator as well as a dance researcher.

    Marie is the founder of the non-profit organisation "Collective Voices for Change" aiming to promote cultural appreciation and respect of African American Jazz Dances.

    She is currently completing her Masters in Anthropology of Dance & Ethnochoreology as part of the international ERASMUS program: "Choreomundus" involved with the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).

  • Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Jamica Zion prides herself in being a dynamic follow. She aims for range, not just in connection and style, but across genres too! She holds multiple titles in Blues and Lindy Hop contests from top US events including Lindy Focus, Beantown, and Camp Hollywood.

    Jamica is a Frankie Manning Ambassador both in her local community and as a guest instructor in other scenes. She draws on the professional training she’s received while working with organizations like the Anti-Defamation League and her sociology doctoral program.

  • Stephen is a fresh young talent emerging from the new generation of Lindy Hoppers.

    In 2017, Stephen travelled to South Africa to spend a month working with the charity Sing Inchanga. There he shared skills with local children & young people across their own dance styles and lindy hop.

    Stephen's performance/competition credits include 10 Downing Street, Harrods, Savoy Cup (France), ILHC (USA). His latest projects include organising talks, webinars and advocacy for cultural appreciation within the Lindy Hop/AAVJ communities across the world as a board member for Collective Voices For Change (CVFC).

  • Jon Tigert is a world recognized Swing Dancer and musician. Specializing in Vintage dances such as Lindy Hop, Balboa, Blues, and Charleston, he has won titles from the International Lindy Hop Championships, The Canadian Swing Dance Championships, Lindy Focus, and many more. Swing Dancing since 2005, Jon has made a home in the swing community as a teacher, an MC, a performer, an organizer, and a musician. As a teacher, Jon is well known for his historical and musical knowledge, clear and concise communication, and endless supply of terrible dad jokes.

    Jon now lives in Baltimore where he teaches at the Mobtown Ballroom and sings and plays drums with The Corner Pocket Jazz Band.

Sunny Side Jazz Band

Sunny Side is a jazz band based out of New Orleans, Louisiana.  They are heavily influenced by the music of Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Fats Waller, Cab Calloway, and many other early jazz legends,  Sunny Side was formed in 2019, and is composed of musicians that have played together in various jazz projects around New Orleans since 2017.  The name “Sunny Side” was influenced by the 1930 Fats Waller/Jimmy McHugh jazz standard “On the Sunny Side of the Street”.

8pm Onward: Pre-Party at 30 W North Ave. The bar and and kitchen will be open. BRING BOARD GAMES. Music will be on and we will dance and play games.

Friday

12pm: The Epic Baltimore History tour led by Hannah Lane and Charlie Wieprecht. Starting at the Billie Holliday statue at the corner of Pennsylvania and W Lafayette and ending at 30 W North Ave.

6:45-11pm: Registration table open at Mobtown Ballroom. You can check in when you arrive.

7-8pm: Track auditions

8-9pm: Cocktail Hour at Mobtown Ballroom

9pm onward: Live music by the Sunny Side Jazz Band followed by DJed dancing

Band Breaks: Mix and Match Competition

Late Night Competition: Slow Dancing

Saturday

11:00am-12:00pm: Late arrival track auditions at Mobtown Ballroom

7pm Onward: Soul Party at 30 W North Ave. Dance, chill, and congratulate each other on making it through a whole weekend of dancing! The bar and kitchen will be open.

Registration opens on March 22nd at 6pm EST.
